Job Description
A collections paralegal for CCMR3 will assist in managing and recovering debts owed to our clients. This role involves managing case files, preparing legal documents, communicating with clients and managing legal partners, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
 
Position Responsibilities:
·      Case Management:
o   Maintain and organize case files, including documentation related to debt collection efforts.
o   Track the status of ongoing cases and ensure timely follow-up on deadlines and court dates.
o   Assist in the preparation of reports and responses to data requests.
·      Document Preparation:
o   Draft, review, and file legal documents such as demand letters, complaints, motions, affidavits, and settlement agreements.
o   Prepare and submit documents for court filings and ensure proper service of process.
o   Assist in the preparation of documents for hearings, trials, and depositions.
·      Client and Legal Partners Communication:
o   Communicate with clients to gather information, provide updates on case progress, and respond to inquiries.
 
o   Work with internal collections team to assist in negotiating payment arrangements, settlements, or other resolutions.
o   Manage inbound and outbound communications regarding debt-related inquiries and disputes.
·      Research and Compliance:
o   Conduct legal research on relevant laws, regulations, and case precedents related to debt collection.
o   Ensure all collection practices comply with state and federal laws, including the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).
o   Monitor changes in laws and regulations that may impact collection practices.
·      Administrative Support:
o   Maintain accurate records of communications, payments, and legal actions taken in connection with collections.
o   Assist in billing and invoicing for collection-related services.
 
Required Qualifications:
·      AA in Legal Studies or Bachelor's degree (preferred)
·      Paralegal Certification
·      2+ years in litigation and collections
·      Strong understanding of collection practices, bankruptcy, post-judgment remedies (i.e., wage garnishments, bank liens, etc.). and contested litigation
·      Excellent written and verbal communication skills
·      High attention to detail and organization
·      Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
