The Microsoft 365 Engineer will oversee our Microsoft back-end technologies and our online tenant infrastructure. The ideal candidate should excel across multiple Microsoft technologies and be comfortable with operating in PowerShell to perform and/or automate all administrative functions.
Responsibilities
Manage, maintain, and support all aspects of the Microsoft 365 hosted platform
Design, test, deploy, maintain, and improve our Microsoft 365 infrastructure in concert with various product owners
Investigate and develop automated procedures to eliminate manual processes
Develop an extensive library of automation scripts, including those used for daily processing, troubleshooting, investigation, provisioning, and reporting
Become the leading subject-matter expert (SME) in overall Microsoft 365 processes, including specific deep expertise with Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, Intune, and Application interaction with those services
Provide technical support and work with various IT teams to resolve issues.
Manage multiple project responsibilities concurrently; monitor progress and implementation ensuring project requirements and Firm standards are met
Investigate and research emerging products and services, ensuring protocols and standards are current to industry standards
Anticipate future requirements and proactively identify opportunities for improvement.
Maintain technical documentation and inventory in all areas of responsibility
Perform other duties as assigned
Education
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Skills And Experience
A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience required
Experience supporting and managing Microsoft 365 services, specifically in the areas of Exchange Online, Teams, and PowerShell
Exceptional scripting experience required, including intimate knowledge of workspaces, modern authentication methods, and limitations of working within remote PowerShell sessions against Microsoft services
Expertise in all matters relating to email transport, including details around SMTP transport, email hygiene, and complex routing rules
Experience with complex directory synchronization designs including links between on premise and Azure environments, with a firm grasp of impacts with changes to user attributes such as UPN, Preferred Data Locations, and other critical attributes
A strong ability to interface with all levels of management, both in Information Technology and business personnel when required
Ability to manage vendors to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products and services
Strong understanding of network topologies
Ability to manage multiple project responsibilities with competing requirements and deadlines
Can organize, prioritize, plan and multi-task work activities, with the ability to effectively meet deadlines in a high pressure environment
Preferred
Experience with other Microsoft 365 technologies such as OneDrive, SharePoint, Azure Identity Management, Active Directory, LDAP, DNS, and including all on premise equivalents
Salary Information
NY Only: The estimated base salary range for this position is $125,000 to $155,000 at the time of posting.
The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. This role is exempt meaning it is not overtime pay eligible.
