- Summary
The Hot Check clerk will help with receiving payments from check writers, setting up files, setting up payment agreements and communicating with check writers.
- Essential Duties
Includes but is not limited to the following:
- Research information in the computer system to assure the correctness of data entered.
- Communicate with all Justice of the Peace offices.
- Communicate with the public both over the phone and in person.
- Receive hot checks by various merchants or organizations and enter information in computer.
- Receive payments from hot check writers and enter information into computer.
- Prepare paperwork associated with hot checks.
- Prepare and file hot check shucks.
- Other duties as may be assigned by the Hot Check Administrator.
- Position Requirements
- Knowledge of all Microsoft programs.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner.
