About the roleStatsig is hiring our first General Counsel to help us stay ahead of potential risks, streamline our processes, and support our next stage of growth. This is an exciting opportunity to build and lead the legal function at Statsig, partnering across the company on everything from contracts to compliance to employment policies.
As our General Counsel, you’ll work hands-on with every team at Statsig, balancing big-picture strategy with the day-to-day legal needs of a fast-moving startup.
ResponsibilitiesShape Legal Strategy: Define and implement strategies to align legal priorities with company goals, while staying compliant with regulations.
Own Contracts & Agreements: Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with customers, vendors, and partners—ensuring terms are fair and risks are managed.
Support Employment Policies: Advise on employment law and HR matters, helping us create a supportive, compliant workplace culture.
Proactively Manage Risks: Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, from regulatory concerns to business operations.
Stay Current on Regulations: Keep us ahead of changes in laws related to data privacy, cybersecurity, and more, ensuring full compliance
We’re looking for someone who’s ready to step into a General Counsel role and help shape Statsig’s future. You’ll thrive here if you share our Statsig values and bring:
At least 4 years of legal experience—ideally with a focus on employment law, commercial contracts, and regulatory compliance, especially in tech or SaaS.
A knack for drafting and negotiating contracts—from customer agreements to vendor partnerships, you can find favorable terms while minimizing risk.
Deep knowledge of employment law—you’re comfortable advising on HR policies, employee relations, and navigating labor regulations.
Strong risk management instincts—you can spot potential risks and build frameworks to keep the company safe and compliant.
Great communication skills—you’re able to explain complex legal concepts in plain language to people outside of legal roles.
A solutions-first mindset—you’re resourceful, proactive, and flexible, especially in fast-moving environments like startups.
Ability to work on-site 5 days a week from our Bellevue, WA office.
