As a Legal Assistant 1, you will perform legal clerical work for the Right-To-Know Law and Subpoena Section. Your duties will include receiving subpoenas and Right to Know Requests, as well as records regarding vehicular crash investigations, patrol-related incidents, criminal activity, and other PSP matters. In this position, you will need the ability to handle sensitive and confidential records and understand pertinent laws governing Right to Know and subpoena issuance. You can expect to perform a full range of clerical support duties including answering the telephone, typing correspondence, scanning, Bates Numbering records and photographs, processing mail, photocopying, and faxing. Additionally, you will maintain and monitor the account payable database, receive and process payments for services provided, and correspond with delinquent account holders.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $39,785.00 (before taxes).

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Three years of responsible clerical, enforcement or investigative work; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
- You must be willing to work onsite full-time. Teleworking is not an option as part of this position's work schedule.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
