Summary: In the legal assistant role, you will draft correspondence and formal statements. You will also prepare reports. You must be well-versed in various types of legal proceedings and stay updated on changes in local, state, and federal laws. Success in this role will be demonstrated by paying attention to detail and ensuring workload is completed in a timely manner to ensure partners and attorneys are prepared for all eventualities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Draft, proofread, and file or send legal documents such as lawsuits and demand letters
- Email communications and mail, outgoing and ingoing in a timely manner
- Conduct PIP audits, gather necessary documents and information to begin building a case
- Organize all legal documents in a confidential way
- Working Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Teams
- Confirm case statuses and generate reports
- Note taking
Qualifications:
· Customer service skills
· Team player, works well with others in a group setting
· Strong organizational skills
· Working knowledge of legal terms and procedures, preferred
· Effective verbal and communication skills
· Minimum of 1 year experience or in-house legal experience
· Proficient in MS Office

Travel Requirements: Up to 25% of travel for work-related tasks within the state and it is covered by the firm
Salary: $18-$20 per hour
Schedule: This position is ON-SITE in our Fort. Lauderdale office, with no remote/ hybrid schedule. Schedule is Monday – Friday, 8-hour shifts, 8:30am-5:30pm
