Great American’s Property & Casualty Group Legal Department is seeking a Summer Legal Intern to work in our corporate headquarters in downtown Cincinnati. The successful candidate will have completed their 1st or 2nd year and have excellent communication and analytical skills. This position is an excellent opportunity for a high-performing student who is looking for a sophisticated and dynamic summer opportunity.

Our Legal Department advises our business partners on all aspects of corporate, insurance, and regulatory issues. We are looking for a law student who is interested in a position that provides a wide variety of experiences and ample opportunity to contribute to the success of our team.

Responsibilities

This position will assist the Legal Department with ongoing projects including the following:

  • Researching and analyzing legal issues, regulations, and statutes.

  • Assisting in the review of legal documents.

  • Drafting reports, correspondence, agreements, and other legal documents.

  • Assist with special projects.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a juris doctor with an accredited law school.

  • 1st or 2nd year law school student

  • GPA of at least 3.0 or higher.

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to problem solve in a logical manner.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Must be self-motivated.

  • Strong organization skills.

  • Able to manage/prioritize work and meet deadlines.

  • Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
