Job Description
Our client, a reputable and growing Austin area law firm, is looking to hire an experienced Intellectual Property Paralegal on a full time basis. This firm is located in Downtown Austin and this position is in the office daily.
Duties:
- Assist attorneys in preparing and filing trademark, copyright, and patent applications.
- Conduct trademark searches and analyze results for potential conflicts.
- Maintain and organize intellectual property files, ensuring all documents are current and accurately filed.
- Draft and review legal documents, including agreements, correspondence, and reports.
- Monitor deadlines for filings and renewals, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Assist in the preparation of responses to office actions and other communications with the USPTO and other regulatory bodies.
- Conduct research on intellectual property laws, trends, and best practices.
- Liaise with clients and outside counsel regarding IP matters.
- Support the enforcement of intellectual property rights, including assisting with litigation support when necessary.
- Prepare reports and summaries for attorneys and clients.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in paralegal studies or a related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 or more years of experience as a paralegal, with a focus on intellectual property law.
- Familiarity with IP databases and software.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools.
