PART-TIME APPELATE PARALEGAL - Government Contractor
Position Description
Intelligence Federal is a fast-growing government contracting company seeking a paralegal to support a government agency who is technically proficient, competent, and friendly.
JOB DUTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
· Perform extensive legal research and writing to assist the with the preparation of pleadings, briefs, and responses to be filed in the United States District Court and the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
· Analyze the legal impact of legislative developments and administrative and judicial decisions, opinions, determinations, and rulings.
· Review files, conduct research, and prepare draft pleadings, briefs, and responses.
· Assist the Appellate Chief in preparing guidance and giving advice concerning developments in the law and Department of justice policy.
· Assist the Appellate Chief and Supervisors in the review of pleadings to ensure accuracy and uniformity.
SECURITY CLEARANCE LEVEL
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an active Public Trust Clearance.
- Must be a US Citizen.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS & SELECTION CRITERIA
· Must have a minimum of ten (10) years of experience working as a paralegal or attorney.
· Undergraduate degree is required.
· Law Degree preferred.
· Working knowledge of federal criminal law and procedure is required.
· Excellent legal research and writing skills and previous experience conducting independent research and writing are required.
· Experience with appellate legal work is preferred.
