Law Office of Damaris Chavez, a well-established and reputable law firm in Houston, is seeking an experienced and compassionate Family Law Attorney to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in family law and a passion for helping clients navigate complex legal issues related to divorce, child custody, and other family matters.
Responsibilities:
- Consult with clients to understand their needs and develop effective legal strategies.
- Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, and court proceedings.
- Prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and agreements.
- Conduct legal research and stay up-to-date on changes in family law.
- Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to provide high-quality legal services.
- Maintain accurate records and manage case files.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
- Spanish and English speaking with fluency
- Active license to practice law in Texas.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in family law.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Empathetic and client-focused approach to legal representation.

Compensation: $75,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year

Damaris A. Chavez is a dedicated attorney who focuses on effectively representing her client’s rights and interests. Her mission is to offer comprehensive and sound legal advice by educating her clients about the law. She encourages settlements through competent negotiation and mediation, while always being prepared to fight aggressively in court.
Attorney Chavez practices primarily in Family, Immigration and Personal Injury. Having opened the Law Office of Damaris A. Chavez in August of 2013, she handles a wide variety of cases and has built a strong record of legal success. Her clients are so consistently pleased with her representation that a large percentage of her business are by way of referrals.
Damaris’ commitment to her clients, and to the practice of law, has led to a successful career in Pasadena, Texas. She serves a variety of different clients, including those who reside in the local area, from Harris and its contiguous counties, and occasionally clients from out of state.
Attorney Chavez has always been devoted to helping the community by engaging in diverse volunteer programs. During her college years at the University of Houston – Downtown, she volunteered with The Bridge, a shelter for battered women, and also for Crossroads, an agency whose purpose is to prevent and reduce youth involvement in the juvenile justice system. During law school, Damaris joined Child Advocates, an agency who uses volunteers as a voice to protect children who are suffering from abuse, and Catholic Charities, a non-profit organization geared toward helping those with immigration issues.
