Job Description

General Purpose:

The Senior Litigation Docketing Specialist will report to the Docketing Manager and is a client focused, detail-oriented position that provides multi-jurisdictional litigation docketing support firm wide, with an emphasis on handling complex docketing procedures. This position is in-person Monday - Friday for the first 90 days, expected to transition to a hybrid role, in-office 2+ days/week, after the first 90 days. 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Lead and assist with incoming requested court filings
  • Review of legal documents to review and identify associated deadlines for Federal, State, and Appellate Courts
  • Make entries of litigation deadlines into the docketing database following docketing procedures and methods of entry
  • Generate docket reports and respond to queries as requested by attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants
  • Monitor cases with the use of various online resources and distribute documents, as requested, to case teams
  • Handle all case team inquiries and requests in a timely and efficient manner
  • Assist with team review and training by providing feedback and updates as needed
  • Process incoming litigation matters from various courts/agencies
  • Responsible for leading multiple high-complexity projects assigned by manager
  • Maintains and helps enforce Litigation Docketing Team protocols
  • Assist the Litigation Docketing Manager with other duties as needed, including advanced reporting, complex docketing procedures, and assigning work to other team members
  • Other duties as assigned to fully meet the requirements of the position

Supervisory Duties (if applicable):

This position has no supervisory responsibilities. This position will provide training, guidance on tasks, and review work of others.

Job Qualifications (Education, Experience and Certification):

  • Minimum of 5 years litigation docketing, calendaring and civil procedure experience required
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university or equivalent experience in a similar role.
  • In depth knowledge of litigation procedure, Court websites, and litigation docketing software and procedures.
  • Ability to provide clear and concise training on litigation docketing processes and procedures.
  • Ability to handle and maintain confidential or sensitive information.
  • Ability to work with all levels within the firm.
  • Strong attention to details with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical, data entry, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this position, the employee must have the ability to sit, stand and/or walk for extended periods of time; manipulate (lift, carry, move) weights of at least ten (10) pounds; have repetitive wrist/hand/finger movement to work on a computer and/or related office equipment; speak clearly and concisely so listeners can understand; and regularly understand the speech of another person.

Colorado Salary Range - $32.94 - $54.90 per hour. A discretionary bonus may be available based upon performance.
