Job Summary:
The Associate General Counsel will lead our beverage alcohol legal function to support our expanding portfolio of businesses, including Sweetwater, ShockTop, Breckenridge, Montauk Brewing and Manitoba Harvest.
The Associate General Counsel will lead our beverage alcohol legal function to support our expanding portfolio of businesses, including Sweetwater, ShockTop, Breckenridge, Montauk Brewing and Manitoba Harvest.
In such capacity you will support our U.S. alcohol license compliance efforts and related commercial agreements, and ensure the organization meets and maintains compliance and legal objectives. You will also assist with drafting and negotiating supply and distribution agreements, as well as coordinating related commercial and general corporate legal matters for our beverage alcohol business units. You will also be responsible for the efficient management and resolution of a range of litigation matters.

You will be working alongside and in support of our highly experienced business team and legal professionals. Roles and Responsibilities:
- Lead in-house counsel to support the beverage alcohol business team with respect to commercial, distribution and license matters.
- Support legal and regulatory compliance program functions for our beverage alcohol and wellness business units.
- Support on day-to-day operational requests for our beverage alcohol business units.
- Support our expanding and ongoing beverage alcohol production and distribution efforts to ensure compliance with state-by-state regulations.
- Lead and coordinate our nationwide portfolio of beverage alcohol, Delta 9 and CBD licenses and registrations.
- Proactively identify and discuss emerging beverage alcohol regulatory, licensing and commercial issues with company leadership.
- Manage and monitor processes around assessing third-party risk, including due diligence on suppliers and business partners.
- Support the continuous improvement of legal processes to promote efficiency.
- Contribute positively to the culture of the legal team and Tilray Brands as a whole.
- Due to the dynamic nature of the industry, the scope of your job may evolve and change by business demands.
Key Qualifications:
- Law degree from a top tier U.S. law school
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience working in a top tier law firm and/or in-house legal department focused on beverage alcohol, litigation management, compliance program management and/or associated or similar processes in a global and dynamic operating environment
- Experience with drafting and negotiating commercial agreements
- Experience with beverage alcohol licensing, distribution and related commercial legal functions
- Experience with efficiently managing complex litigation matters
- Demonstrated success developing and executing new processes and continual maintenance of compliance and legal objectives
- Experience in developing, drafting, promulgating, and maintaining policies, standards, and procedures in key risk areas
- Experience with information and records governance
