Job Description

Richardson Plowden & Robinson is a mid-sized firm in South Carolina that provides legal services and advice to individuals, corporations, hospitals, and other professionals. We are a business defense firm with multiple practice areas including litigation, construction, healthcare, corporate, real estate, and employment law.

The Legal Assistant (Construction Law) offers support to Partners and/or Associates by handling various legal administrative tasks. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: composing letters, communicating with clients, electronically submitting state and federal filings, managing attorney schedules, preparing pleadings, arranging out-of-town trips and depositions, corresponding with Judges, Court Officials, and outside counsel, sorting and opening mail, establishing new client files, recording time entries for attorneys in Juris, processing check requests, and answering phone calls for multiple attorneys.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Prior experience in administrative and legal tasks is preferred
  • Must have strong knowledge of current state and federal electronic filing guidelines
  • Experience with iManage software is preferred
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and strong computer skills
  • Strong verbal and written skills
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Teamwork-willingness to help others when needed
  • Professionalism in the workplace
