
JOB DESCRIPTION: Singleton Schreiber, LLP is seeking an experienced, motivated, and detail-oriented senior paralegal to join our Mass Torts team. This is a fast-paced position that supports a team of attorneys litigating cases in both state and federal courts. The role also involves collaboration with, and mentorship of, other paralegals and case assistants.
SALARY AND BENEFITS:
$40.00- $48.00 hour
Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualifications for the role.
JOB DUTIES:
- Communicate regularly with clients.
- Review and organize client documents.
- Provide paralegal support to attorneys throughout all phases of a case, from pre-litigation to post-trial motions.
- Assist with and/or lead complex projects, settlement programs, mass client communications, and the creation of document templates.
- Responsible for state and federal court filings, document management and review, propounding and responding to discovery, noticing depositions, creating privilege logs, preparing trial exhibits, and performing similar duties.
- Manage electronic information, document review, and document management tasks, including Bates-stamping, scanning, coding, and searching in complex litigation matters.
- Upload and maintain client information in a case management database.
- Draft legal documents, correspondence, discovery requests and responses, expert disclosures, motions, and pleadings.
- Stay up to date on rules of civil procedure in both state and federal courts, including CM/ECF filing via PACER, and arrange for service of pleadings and subpoenas.
- Track and manage case-related deadlines using an electronic calendaring system.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Must possess a paralegal certificate or meet the requirements of California Business & Professions Code § 6450.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a paralegal.
- Familiar with e-discovery and law programs such as Milana, ShareFile, PACER, CaseAnywhere, Westlaw, SmartAdvocate, Everlaw, Filevine, and OneLegal.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mass torts and civil litigation.
- Experience with case management software programs.
- Proficient in Adobe, Excel, Microsoft Office, and Outlook.
- A successful candidate must be detail-oriented and organized, a team player, reliable, and capable of multitasking and managing multiple time-sensitive projects under tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiar with working on cases from pre-litigation to post-trial motions.
