We are looking for a Regulatory Counsel to join our US & Canada team. The ideal candidate would be a resident in one of the key US Marsh offices, which include Boston, MA; New York, NY; Atlanta, GA; Urbandale, IA, Chicago, IL, and Austin, TX, with other locations across the US also considered.
What can you expect:
Reporting to Marsh’s Chief Regulatory Counsel and working closely with members of the broader US & Canada LCPA team, you will be responsible for identifying, analyzing and advising on an array of regulatory compliance issues in the Marsh businesses.
We will count on you to:
- Bring a strong background in effective insurance legal and regulatory matters and be a trusted advisor to senior business leaders and colleagues in all roles
- Be well-versed in the federal and state legal and regulatory framework for professional service organizations including insurance (commercial and employee benefits) brokers, consultants and actuaries
- Demonstrate sound judgment in providing advice and making decisions – even where difficult – and in determining when to escalate issues
- Interact effectively with regulatory and/or enforcement staff at all levels and in a variety of contexts
What you need to have:
- Juris Doctor degree and a minimum of 5 years relevant legal and regulatory experience
- Minimum 2+ years’ law firm experience that includes advising professional services and insurance industry clients, with relevant in-house experience also desirable
