Join CAE’s team of internal Legal Counsel. This role supports our Business and Commercial Aviation Training segments in the United States and Latin America, while working onsite at our DFW Dallas, TX training location.

This role involves providing a range of corporate and commercial legal services to in-house clients, advising on government and regulatory compliance, and reviewing legal data to recommend appropriate actions. The incumbent is responsible to:
Draft, review, and negotiate various commercial contracts with clients and suppliers related to the company's civil activities, including training and other services contracts, building leases, sales contracts, licenses, financing/lease agreements, joint ventures, strategic partnerships, bids and tenders.
Manage claims by and/or against third parties.
Provide legal advice on the interpretation of laws and regulations applicable to the company's activities.
Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement contracts and internal policies aligned with the company's business needs and growth.
Coordinate files assigned to outside law firms.
Develop tools (including training tools) for the legal department and other CAE departments.
Qualifications:
Admission to the Texas State Bar is required; Florida Bar is an asset.
Bachelor of Laws degree (common law or equivalent experience).
A mix of law firm and in-house roles, with solid experience in commercial contracts; 5-7 years' relevant experience,
Strong drafting and negotiation skills.
Excellent command of English; conversational Spanish is an asset.
Clear and concise communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present legal issues to non-legal stakeholders.
Experience in the aviation industry is an asset.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
The role requires readiness to travel, as necessary.
