Job Description
Legal Services of Greater Miami, Inc., (Legal Services) is accepting applications from attorneys admitted to the Florida Bar who have a commitment to and passion for the rights of low-income clients. The attorney will be responsible for their own caseload and will be required to conduct client intake on the phone, in-person and in the community. The attorney will be required to develop and participate in community outreach events, conduct client and provider education events, and collaborate with client and community partners.
The attorney will primarily represent individuals in public benefit matters, with a focus on Medicaid eligibility and access, as well as issues related to Re-employment Assistance, SNAP (Food Stamps), and Temporary Cash Assistance.
Qualifications
• Florida licensed attorney.
• Demonstrated commitment to serving low-income people and communities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with teams.
Salary/ Benefits
Salary based on experience. Excellent fringe benefits packages, paid holidays, paid vacation (which after two years, increases to four weeks per year), sick leave (12 days per year), and five additional leave days. Full-time employees may participate in our benefits program on the 1st of the month following the date of hire. Our benefits include fully paid health insurance for employees & dependents, fully paid dental coverage for employees, dependents may also be included at a minimum fee, fully paid life insurance and Long-Term Disability policy as well as 401k retirement savings plans with employer contributions after six months of service.
