Your Role:

The Compliance Counsel, Oncology will help to ensure that EMD Serono complies with the highest legal and ethical standards in the Oncology therapeutic area. The Compliance Counsel, Oncology will advise the business and functional areas in their daily activities focusing on all Global and US Oncology matters while maintaining EMD Serono’s ethical standards.

The position will also support and contribute into the implementation of the Company’s Global Compliance Program by driving and supporting local initiatives related to the different elements of the Company’s Global Compliance Program.

 

Key Accountabilities:

 

  • Actively support all Global and US Oncology business and related functional areas in providing compliance advice to their daily activities accompanying the Company’s lifecycle including supporting within product launches (if required)

  • In alignment with the Company Global Compliance Program, implement the Compliance Program and strategy for EMD Serono (including among others – initiatives related to Risk Management, Local Policies, Training, Third Party due diligence, Interaction Management, Transparency Reporting and Investigations). Local implementation could also involve creation and adaptation of any element according to US legal and compliance requirements

  • Develop relationships with key stakeholders throughout the Company and promote the Company’s Global Compliance Program

  • Identify business strategies and tactics that present a compliance risk and provide input into the Company’s Compliance risk assessment and mitigation remediation strategies

  • Support compliance investigations through collection of information and facilitation of interviews between the Global Investigations Team and business stakeholders and support implementation of corrective action measures

  • Stay up to date of changes to laws and regulations with healthcare compliance related to all commercial operations and promotional activities

 

 

Strategic Impact

  • Implement and maintain Compliance Framework in designated area of responsibility and ensuring adherence also to local legislation.

  • Interact with Compliance Center of Expertise (CoE) to provide relevant information and evidence in relation to the implementation of the global Compliance Management System (CMS).

 

Who You Are:

 

Location: Boston, MA - Onsite 3 days a week

Travel: 20-30% estimate

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience in a Legal or Compliance function in Pharmaceutical compliance

  • Collaborator with ability to influence and gain buy in at the leadership level.

  • Ability to collaborate across departments and global teams.  

  • Innovative approach, creative thinker

  • Participate in a feedback culture and take responsibility.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • J.D. degree or LL.M. degree from an accredited law school, admission to practice law in a U.S. jurisdiction

  • US & global experience strongly preferred
