We are currently seeking a positive, energetic attorney to join Mariner’s legal team, headquartered in the Overland Park, Kansas office.
Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day advice and support other in-house attorneys on litigation, M&A and various corporate matters
- Draft and review contracts, including: purchase agreements, term sheets, indications of interest, letters of intent, deal summaries, services agreements, NDAs, referral agreements, independent contractor agreements, client agreements, real estate agreements, corporate organization documents, etc
- Assist in litigation strategy, review of pleadings, discovery and general case management
- Conduct research, monitor legislation and case law on all aspects of the law that may effect or otherwise have implications on the Company and advise other members of the Legal team with respect to relevant changes and trends
- Other responsibilities assigned as needed
Qualifications
- 4-7 years of legal practice with a reputable law firm and/or in-house counsel experience
- Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school and licensed to practice in at least one U.S. state
- Litigation and/or M&A experience required
- Financial services experience beneficial and preferred, but not required

- Be a self-starter with a strong work ethic, capable of taking ownership of projects/matters
- Present information in a clear and articulate manner through oral and written communication
- Possess the ability to work on several projects at once while balancing competing objectives
- Produce high-quality work product in a timely manner to meet demands of the Company
- Work well both independently and as a team player
- Be a creative thinker who can initiate and develop alternative approaches to complex issues
- Have a strong sense of integrity and the ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive matters
