Job Description

Real Estate firm, located near Norcross, GA, is seeking a full time Litigation Paralegal. Must have excellent organizational skills. We offer a competitive compensation and benefits program. Experience is welcomed. Researches, investigates facts and prepares documents to assist lawyer by performing the following duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Draft legal documents, including Notices, Motions, Affidavits, Pleadings, and Correspondence for Attorney review.
  • Compile and redact Exhibits for legal pleadings.
  • Manage client communications in all proprietary systems on behalf of Attorneys (BKFS, Tempo, SSE, etc)
  • Oversee fee approval steps on active caseload and request additional fees as needed to ensure payment on files.
  • Assist Attorney in managing workload
  • Communicate with courts regarding filings, hearings, and outstanding orders
  • Communicate with process service entities, including sheriff, re: service on parties to cases
  • Communicate with third parties regarding case follow ups and document return
  • Input current case notes and tasks in Clio on a daily basis
  • Input all billing entries for work completed into Clio on a daily basis
  • Manage case calendar to ensure all pending deadlines and events are inputted into Time Matters calendar
  • Handle filing and recording (including electronically) of legal documents.
  • Complete and input 1380 hours of billable time per year.
  • Request checks for non-electronically billed costs.
  • Ensure receipts for all costs are timely remitted to Litigation Billing Assistant or Litigation Billing Coordinator with clear file notations.
  • Legal Research utilizing various systems including Pacer, Westlaw, and Department of Defense active servicemember database.
  • Communicate daily with Attorney(s) regarding issues and deadlines affecting case.
  • Escalate urgent matters to Litigation Partners or Senior Partner as needed to protect client interests.
  • Other duties may be assigned

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's (B.A.) or Associate's (A.A.) degree; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Paralegal Certificate required.
