Senior CounselAs a Senior Counsel with BCSBWY, you will be an important member of our Legal Service Team, accountable for the provision of effective and thoughtful legal support and advice/counsel across assigned multiple areas of related to an organization’s legal rights and obligations; assigned areas may include: corporate law, special investigations, local/state/federal legislative governmental affairs, contracting and vendor management, real estate, tax, compliance, privacy, business litigation, transactions/anti-trust, intellectual property, corporate governance, ethics, accreditation, subrogation, etc. With the BCBSWY Legal Services Team, you will have the opportunity to build upon/develop a depth of expertise in a variety of focus areas.

To be successful in this role you will need to be able to apply your knowledge of regulatory aspects of the health insurance industry from a state as well as federal level, tap your proven skills with developing, managing, and implementing processes to ensure the organizations compliance with applicable federal and state regulations and guidelines, effectively delve into legal analysis, interpretation, and possible action (responsive as well as proactive) recommendations, as well as quickly assess and quantify legal risk, formulate options and recommendations, and confidently present same to various audiences.
The opportunities and challenges of this role make for an exciting position - one day, you may be focused on researching and preparing guidance for typical questions, while other days, you will be faced with unusual questions, some having limited precedent. You would be joining a fast-paced team of legal professionals.
This role requires an earned Juris Doctor degree required as well as being a member in good standing of the Wyoming Bar. 5 years of professional work experience is preferred along with prior experience managing employees.

Our compensation program is reviewed for competitive market match on an annual basis and employees are eligible for annual merit increases. Monthly incentives that are based on individual and company performance are also available to eligible employees and members of our Sales Team can realize generous performance-based commissions.

Serving Those Who Call Wyoming Home.Our positions are all based in Wyoming. Depending on the department and the position, eligible employees may be offered limited In-Office/WFH flexibility (for those positions that are offered limited WFH, there will be a required number of In-Office days per week/month depending on department). Executive level employees are required to reside full-time in Wyoming.
