Associate Attorney 

Practice area – Estate Planning

We are seeking a highly capable, motivated junior associate attorney to work on foundational estate planning.  

 

Responsibilities and duties include:

  • Highly customized drafting of foundational estate planning documents
  • Meet with and advise clients on the proper design and structure of revocable living trusts
  • Research estate planning and other tax issues 
  • Evaluate and coordinate/update template documents, letters, procedures


Requirements:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school; a member in good standing of the California Bar 
  • Estate planning experience—none required, 1-3 years is preferred
  • Willingness to develop strong drafting skills and to learn from senior attorneys to meet client needs
  • Knowledge of estate and gift tax
  • An LLM or background in tax law is preferred 
  • Broad knowledge of corporate matters affecting closely held companies is helpful  
  • Ability to interact comfortably with clients and management; strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability and flexibility to adapt and multi-task in a fast-paced environment; respond to client demands
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Commitment to professionalism; flexibility as to the types of projects assigned

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry 30 pounds
  • Frequent standing and walking  
  • Sitting for up to four hours at a time
  • Bending and stooping as needed
