Duties As a Paralegal Specialist in the United States Attorney's Office (USAO), Appellate Division, Post Conviction Section, you will: Perform substantive legal research using a variety of research tools, review and organize complex factual material and other documentary data, analyze documentation relevant to acquiring evidence or testimony; Independently prepare substantive legal documents to include responses to post-conviction motions seeking collateral relief pursuant to 28 U.S.C. ยง 2255 and various criminal pleadings, with an emphasis on identifying and addressing the legal issues, proper citation, grammar, and spelling; Review files and respond to Freedom of Information Act requests; Provide litigation case management and organize cases for court presentation; Handle administrative responsibilities associated with pre-trial diversion proceedings and magistrate judge/traffic court. Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress. Salary- $61,111 - $96,116/year
