The Position 

We are looking for a Professional Liability Paralegal to join a team of paralegals and legal assistants that support our Professional Liability Practice Group. This position reports to practice group shareholders and associates for work product prioritization and conflict resolution. This job operates in a professional office environment, and this position is expected to work out of the employer’s primary office location.

Requirements

 Essential responsibilities of the position will include: 

   • Draft legal documents including, briefs, pleadings, appeals, agreements, contracts, etc.

   • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, judicial administrative staff, vendors and courts 

   • Compile information for discovery, pleadings, motions, and assisting in trial preparation 

   • Perform initial drafts of discovery 

   • Create discovery logs and issuing Requests for Copies 

   • Organize, track, and maintain original documents and electronic files 

   • File documents with the courts or other government entities 

   • Assist attorneys with document review to assist with case development 

   • Perform legal and factual research 

   • Perform records research 

   • Organize, analyze and validate information 

   • Organize and maintain paper and electronic client/matter files 

   • Assist with trial preparation including witness lists, exhibits and trial binders 

   • Accurate input of time into Time and Billing system 

   • Other duties as assigned 


The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following qualifications: 

   • 3+ years of litigation paralegal experience 

   • Excellent attention to detail and critical thinking skills 

   • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required 

   • Excellent organizational and time management skills 

   • Excellent research and analytical skills 

   • Must be a self-starter, professional, and team player 

   • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities

   • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Relativity or e-discovery platform 

   • Familiarity with electronic filings with governmental entities and document management systems
