We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Legal Assistant/Paralegal with a strong background in contract management and HR investigations. This role will support the legal and human resources departments by reviewing, drafting, and maintaining contracts, as well as assisting in workplace investigations and compliance matters. The ideal candidate will have experience in employment law, corporate contracts, and risk management.
Key Responsibilities:
Contracts Management:
- Draft, review, and revise a variety of contracts, including employment agreements, vendor contracts, NDAs, and service agreements.
- Assist with contract negotiations and ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Maintain and organize contract databases, tracking key terms, renewals, and expirations.
- Conduct legal research related to contract law, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external counsel on contract-related matters.
HR Investigations & Compliance:
- Assist in conducting internal HR investigations related to workplace misconduct, discrimination, harassment, and other employment matters.
- Gather and analyze evidence, documentation, and witness statements in support of investigations.
- Prepare investigation reports, summaries, and recommendations for legal and HR leadership.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal employment laws, including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, and EEO regulations.
- Support legal counsel in litigation preparation, including discovery and document requests.
- Maintain confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive employee and legal matters.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies, Paralegal Studies, Business Law, or a related field.
- Paralegal certification (preferred but not required).
- 2 + years of experience in a legal assistant or paralegal role with a focus on contracts and HR investigations.
- Strong knowledge of contract law, employment law, and HR policies.
- Experience working with legal document management systems and contract databases.
- Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and discretion.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in corporate legal departments or employment law firms.
- Familiarity with HRIS systems and compliance software.
- Prior experience with litigation support and discovery requests.
