Role Overview
We’re seeking a General Counsel who will own all legal, regulatory, and compliance matters across our business. You will be a trusted advisor to the CEO and executive team, helping us manage risk, ensure regulatory compliance, support strategic deals, and build legal infrastructure as we grow. As a member of the leadership, you will also help to embody and perpetuate Chamber’s values and culture.
Key Responsibilities
Corporate & Commercial
Advise on corporate governance, fundraising, and equity matters (e.g., SAFEs, cap table management, investor rights)
Draft, review, negotiate, and advise on contracts with potential payers, vendor agreements, NDAs, partnership deals, and MSAs
Support go-to-market and fundraising efforts with legal input on sales, payer, and provider agreements
Regulatory & Compliance
Ensure compliance with healthcare laws including HIPAA, Stark, Anti-Kickback, and applicable CMS rules
Develop policies, training, and internal controls for HIPAA/privacy and security compliance
Work closely with product, engineering, and other functions to ensure legal requirements are integrated into tech workflows
Align with our People/HR leader to ensure compliance with our employee onboarding and offboarding cadences
Healthcare & Clinical Risk
Advise on legal risks associated with clinical operations, telehealth delivery, licensure, and scope of practice
Monitor evolving federal and state healthcare regulations that may impact our business model
Collaborate with medical leadership to support risk management and quality assurance frameworks
Strategic & Operational Support
Serve as legal partner for strategic initiatives such as M&A, value-based care models, or new product launches
Work cross-functionally with People, Clinical Finance, Ops. and Product teams to provide practical legal guidance
Manage external counsel relationships and budget when needed
Job Requirements
J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school and active license to practice law
8–12+ years of legal experience, ideally with a mix of top law firm and in-house roles
Background executing and navigating payer and healthcare provider contracts
Deep knowledge of key regulatory frameworks: HIPAA, AKS, Stark, CMS programs, managed care rules
Experience supporting startups or high-growth companies, especially in digital health or healthtech
Business-minded, composed, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
Excellent communicator and highly personable with strong judgment high integrity
