Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Class Action Attorney to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in managing all phases of class action litigation, from investigation to trial. This position requires a results-oriented professional with a deep understanding of complex litigation, exceptional advocacy skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all aspects of class action cases, particularly in personal injury, labor and employment, and commercial litigation, including case evaluation, legal research, drafting pleadings, discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation.
- Investigate potential class action matters by gathering evidence, interviewing clients, and analyzing claims.
- Draft motions, complaints, settlement agreements, and legal memoranda.
- Participate in court hearings, depositions, and trials as required.
- Negotiate settlements and advocate effectively for clients during mediation or arbitration proceedings.
- Collaborate with a team of attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to meet deadlines and case objectives.
- Effectively manage a heavy caseload while maintaining the highest level of ethical standards and client service.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, co-counsel, and other professionals.
- Stay updated on laws, regulations, and precedents related to class action litigation, with a particular focus on personal injury, employment law, and commercial matters.
Required Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in California and in good standing.
- Minimum 10 years of experience managing class action litigation, with a proven track record of success.
- Extensive understanding and experience in Labor Code (PAGA) Private Attorneys General Act
- Experience in federal and state court systems and knowledge of procedural rules related to complex and class action cases.
- Exceptional legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated ability to strategize, negotiate settlements, and lead cases through resolution.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to meet strict deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to interact effectively with clients and team members.
- Proficiency in legal research platforms (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Skills:
- Background in class action litigation related to personal injury, labor and employment, and commercial disputes.
- Trial experience, including experience with mock trials, jury research, and expert witnesses.
- Familiarity with emerging trends in class action practice areas.
