Key Responsibilities
- Advise clients on estate planning strategies, including drafting wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives.
- Represent clients in probate court proceedings, estate administration, and contested matters.
- Guide executors, trustees, and beneficiaries through the probate process, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and deadlines.
- Handle guardianship and conservatorship cases, including court filings and hearings.
- Provide counsel on estate tax implications, asset distribution, and fiduciary duties.
- Collaborate with financial advisors, accountants, and other professionals to develop comprehensive estate solutions.
- Conduct legal research, prepare pleadings, motions, and other court documents.
- Maintain strong client relationships and deliver high-quality legal service with empathy and professionalism.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in [State].
- 3+ years of experience in probate, estate planning, and/or elder law.
- Strong knowledge of probate laws, trust administration, and estate tax regulations.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong negotiation and courtroom litigation skills.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive matters with discretion.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and case management skills.
- Experience handling contested probate matters or estate litigation.
- Familiarity with Medicaid/long-term care planning.
- Multilingual abilities (a plus depending on client base).
- Strong client development and business-building skills.
