Probate / Estate Attorney

Job Description

• Advise clients on estate planning strategies, including drafting wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives.
• Represent clients in probate court proceedings, estate administration, and contested matters.
• Guide executors, trustees, and beneficiaries through the probate process, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and deadlines.
• Handle guardianship and conservatorship cases, including court filings and hearings.
• Provide counsel on estate tax implications, asset distribution, and fiduciary duties.
• Collaborate with financial advisors, accountants, and other professionals to develop comprehensive estate solutions.
• Conduct legal research, prepare pleadings, motions, and other court documents.
• Maintain strong client relationships and deliver high-quality legal service with empathy and professionalism.

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in [State].
• 3+ years of experience in probate, estate planning, and/or elder law.
• Strong knowledge of probate laws, trust administration, and estate tax regulations.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong negotiation and courtroom litigation skills.
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive matters with discretion.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and case management skills.

• Experience handling contested probate matters or estate litigation.
• Familiarity with Medicaid/long-term care planning.
• Multilingual abilities (a plus depending on client base).
