We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Associate General Counsel to lead our enterprise contract operations. This is a unique opportunity to act as a hands-on legal partner, responsible for our company’s critical commercial and vendor contracts. Reporting directly to the General Counsel, you will be a key player in our small, agile legal team, providing essential legal services and strategic advice across the organization.
Core Functions:- Lead all aspects of enterprise contract management, from initial drafting to final negotiation and interpretation. You will be responsible for a wide range of agreements, including AI, service, software, manufacturing, design, and technology licenses.
- Act as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders, collaborating closely with various departments, particularly Sales, to develop effective legal strategies that support business goals.
- Conduct thorough risk analysis for business decisions and operations, providing clear, actionable counsel to mitigate potential legal and business risks.
- Investigate and address potential data, privacy, and intellectual property matters,
- Monitor legal and regulatory changes that could impact the business environment, proactively adapting our strategies to remain compliant.
- Manage and execute key legal projects with various departments, working collaboratively to achieve business objectives.
- Juris Doctorate degree with an active membership in at least one state bar; North Carolina Bar preferred.
- 6+ years of relevant legal experience, with a strong focus on drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a high volume of complex contracts, particularly in an enterprise setting.
- Must be a hands-on doer with a strong work ethic and the ability to dive into the details on a daily basis. You must be a self-starter who thrives in a dynamic environment.
- Proven experience in the healthcare sector is desirable but not required.
- Deep knowledge of contract law.
- Corporate law/Securities knowledge is a plus but not required.
- Excellent professional ethics and integrity.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrable track record of producing high-quality work.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Experience in a startup environment is a plus, with an understanding of the need for flexibility and adapting to change.
- Must be local to the Raleigh, NC area or willing to relocate.
