Title: Mid-Level Employment Associate
Location: Hybrid - San Diego or Los Angeles, CA

- Handle litigation management, legal research, drafting, and other litigation-related tasks for class action and single plaintiff cases, including issues related to wage and hour laws, misclassification, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and wrongful termination.
- Provide legal advice and counsel on employment matters, including employee policies, termination/severance agreements, compensation practices, restrictive covenants, and leave of absence/accommodations (FMLA, ADA).
- Advise clients on employment aspects of corporate transactions, conduct employment due diligence, and assist in the drafting and negotiation of employment-related agreements.
- Defend class and collective actions, offer day-to-day advice to clients, and support complex corporate transactions involving employment law.
- Stay up-to-date on state and federal employment laws and ensure compliance with wage and hour regulations, discrimination laws, and administrative agency requirements.
Requirements:
- Admitted to practice law in California.
- 3-5 years of experience in labor and employment law, including litigation, advice and counsel, PAGA, and transactional work.
- Strong knowledge of state and federal employment laws, including wage and hour laws and discrimination laws.
- Experience in the defense of class and collective actions and advising on employment aspects of corporate transactions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft and negotiate complex agreements.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and research skills.
- Ability to manage competing demands, work under pressure, and collaborate both independently and within a team.
- Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and third parties, both verbally and in writing.
- Deliver high-quality, timely work products and meet deadlines consistently.
- Maintain positive work relationships and comply with all firm policies and practices.
- Engage in physical and sedentary activities, such as computer work, conference calls, and meetings.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from a nationally ranked law school.
