Spend your summer partnering with our Legal Department to advance your skills in compliance, regulatory matters, real estate law, and legislative affairs! You will be paired with mentors who direct, challenge, and teach you about our company and different areas of the business. Interns will have the opportunity to work alongside our Legal team on projects that impact how AgSouth Farm Credit provides services to rural America.

Responsibilities:
•    Assist in preparing legal documents and reports for the General Counsel.
•    Monitor and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
•    Conduct legal research and analysis on various issues including real estate and agricultural law.
•    Collaborate with various departments to ensure legal and regulatory compliance.
•    Support the legal team in managing third-party vendor contracts and agreements.
•    Assist in the development and implementation of compliance programs and policies.

Requirements:
•    Must be pursuing a bachelor’s or masters in Legal Studies, Political Science, or similar field with a desire to attend law school.
•    Minimum completion of sophomore year of coursework.
•    Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
•    Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
•    Strong research and writing skills.
•    Ability to communicate effectively (oral and written).
•    Proficient in legal research databases (Preference given if additional knowledge of contract management software).

Other Details:
The Internship will start May 19, 2025, and end August 1, 2025. This is a paid internship, $18/hour and up to 40 hours per week; however, students must provide their own housing and transportation. Business related expenses will be paid by the organization. Some travel will be required.
