IP Practice Group Attorney (Mechanical Engineering Background) - Minneapolis

An Am Law 100 Law Firm is seeking a full-time Practice Group Attorney to join our Intellectual Property (IP) Practice in Minneapolis. This position is non-Shareholder track and comes with competitive compensation and an excellent benefits package.

Our firm combines a strong local presence with a national and global platform, enabling us to assist clients with their most complex IP challenges.

This role will support the IP Practice in the strategic development, procurement, and management of patent portfolios. Applicants should have relevant experience in the following areas:

• Drafting patent applications
• Prosecuting patent applications

• Registration: Candidates must be registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
• Education: A degree or advanced degree in mechanical engineering is preferred; degrees in electrical engineering or other relevant fields will also be considered.
• Experience: Strong experience in drafting complex mechanical patent applications is a plus.
• Skills: Candidates should have excellent academic credentials, be comfortable working directly with clients, and possess strong writing and analytical skills.
