The Litigation Paralegal will be primarily responsible for assisting attorneys with a wide range of disputes including demand letters, arbitration, litigation, subpoenas, and regulatory actions. The Litigation Paralegal will also support various compliance functions including, but not limited to, HR, data privacy, and government affairs.

Job Description:

The Litigation Paralegal will perform the following duties & responsibilities:

  • Conducting intake, docketing, calendaring, tracking deadlines
  • Administering legal holds and preparing discovery, including document collection and production
  • Drafting letters and other legal correspondences  
  • Working cross-functionally to manage a large volume of matters (e.g., collaborate with Risk Management to ensure coverage and indemnification)
  • Engaging with franchisees and other stakeholders professionally as needed
  • Assisting the department with the reporting, tracking, and management of data
  • Supporting attorneys in other practice areas, including franchising and corporate transactional matters with various tasks such as preparation and production of franchise-related legal documents, due diligence process associated with review of transactions, and corporate governance
  • Target salary 70k-80k depending on experience

Minimum Requirements/Knowledge/Skills

  • 6+ years applicable paralegal experience with majority in litigation
  • Franchise experience a plus
  • Notary public or willingness to become a notary public for the company
  • Proficient in technology platforms, including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) as well as data management tools and platforms
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects
  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational, problem-solving, and administrative skills
  • Flexible and able to work in a cross-functional team environment
  • Ability to interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and follow projects through to completion in a timely and efficient manner
  • Willingness to learn and be open to suggestions/ideas to improve productivity and efficiency
  • Self-starter with willingness to further develop skills as a paralegal and business person
  • Excellent communication (speaking, writing, and listening) skills. 

Minimum Education Requirements/Certifications/Licenses

Paralegal Certificate or Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of experience in a law firm or in-house legal environment.
