About the Position



The County of San Luis Obispo District Attorney's Office is actively recruiting for an Administrative Assistant II/III to join their team!
 
The District Attorney’s Office is looking for professional and motivated team member with experience as an administrative assistant or experience with clerical tasks including computer skills. This position is assigned to the front desk of the District Attorney’s Office and regularly interacts with the public.  They are looking for someone who can work tactfully and cooperatively with all staff and members of the general public.

Administrative Assistant is part of a career series of Administrative Assistant I/II/III; however, the department is seeking to hire at the higher level of II/III.

This recruitment may be used to fill future permanent, substitute, limited term, and temporary positions, both full-time and part-time throughout the County.

Typical Tasks:
  • Plans, organizes, and coordinates District Attorney’s Office clerical support and performs front desk clerical functions that involve internal paper processing and work flow, general office and equipment maintenance, records control and retention, mail routing, office safety and injury reporting, work orders for building maintenance, filing of legal documents, and maintenance of office policies and procedures;
 • Carries out administrative duties such as filing, typing, copying, binding, scanning etc.
 • Establishes clerical work priorities and develops production standards
 • Maintains office supplies and regularly submits requisitions
 • Prepares statistical reports from the legal case management system
 • Answers phone calls, schedules meetings, and manages incoming visitors

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience: 

A combination of education, training, and experience resulting in the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. An example of qualifying education and experience includes:

All levels: Graduation from high school or possession of a G.E.D. certificate at the time of employment. 

Administrative Assistant I: Either A: Six months of experience performing duties comparable to Administrative Assistant Aide, Or B: One year of general clerical experience including word-processing/computer experience.

Administrative Assistant II: Either A: One year of experience performing duties comparable to Administrative Assistant I. Or B: Two years of experience performing a wide variety of clerical and administrative assistant duties including word-processing/computer experience. 

Administrative Assistant III: Either A: One year of experience performing duties comparable to an Administrative Assistant II. Or B: Three years of experience performing a wide variety of clerical and administrative assistant duties including word-processing/computer experience.

Licenses and Certificates:
Possession of a valid Class C CALIFORNIA driver's license. Certain job assignments may require typing speed certification at a particular level, depending on job duties.
