This position offers a flexible, hybrid working arrangement, or remote. 

The Position

We are seeking an experienced Billing Systems Analyst to assist in the integration and deployment of our new financial system and manage ongoing data reporting needs.  The ideal candidate has experience with the Aderant (Sierra Expert) systems.  Additionally, they will have a background in client management and billing processes.  The candidate should bring a multifaceted approach to challenges, blending creativity with collaboration and structure.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Systems Management

  • Supporting and maintaining financial systems.
  • Collaborating with IT and finance teams to implement system enhancements and integrations.
  • Troubleshooting system issues and ensuring data accuracy.
  • Managing system upgrades, testing, and process automation to improve efficiency.
  • Document and update reference materials.

Data Integrity & Compliance

  • Ensuring data accuracy across financial systems and databases.
  • Conducting audits and reconciliations of financial transactions.
  • Assisting with regulatory and compliance reporting requirements.

Cross-Departmental Collaboration

  • Partnering with the finance and operations teams to align revenue strategies.
  • Providing training and support to finance and accounting teams on system functionalities.
  • Assisting in special projects, including system implementations and financial analysis initiatives.

Billing & Revenue Optimization

  • Ensuring accuracy and compliance in billing and invoicing processes.
  • Identifying inefficiencies and recommending process improvements.
  • Working with internal teams to ensure revenue recognition aligns with accounting policies.
  • Continuously monitor and improve system performance post-implementation to meet the firm’s ever-evolving needs.
  • Offer alternative methodologies based on prior experience.

Revenue Analysis & Reporting

  • Preparing financial reports, dashboards, and presentations for leadership.
  • Monitoring key performance indicators related to revenue and financial health. 

Qualifications

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, stakeholders, and leaders across different departments to strategize, obtain consensus, gather and analyze data, and achieve objectives by using a diverse range of communications methods.
  • Regularly inform management of progress and significant developments in the performance of primary responsibilities raising concerns early, escalating issues when necessary and facilitating constructive problem-solving.
  • Manages deadlines and daily responsibilities efficiently, while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Aderant experience is required preferably with the following:
    • Implementing and updating clients and matters in the system.
    • Setting up billing rates.
    • Billing process including but not limited to creating and editing PreBills and posting invoices.
  • Familiarity with Billblast, AS400 (Surepoint) and Minisoft ARCS is advantageous but not required.
  • Proficient with the MS Office Suite including Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Microsoft Excel experience required, including:
    • creating a basic worksheet, 
    • data entry and data formatting,
    • performing calculations in an Excel worksheet by using basic formulas such as SUM
    • identifying, sorting, and filtering data
    • modifying the appearance a worksheet including adjusting the layout, margins, font size, and print size.
    • create and modify pivot tables

Education & Experience

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred (equivalent military/professional experience considered).
  • Experience in law firms or professional services is a plus.

A variety of factors are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to experience, education, licensure and/or certifications, geographic location, market demands, other business and organizational needs, and other factors permitted by law. Final salary wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances.  This position is considered full-time and therefore qualifies for benefits including 401(k) retirement savings plan, medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. 

Salary Range:

$56,000 - $72,900 USD
