We have an opportunity for a Litigation Paralegal to join our New York team supporting our growing trucking, transportation, and general liability defense practice. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and comfortable managing a busy caseload involving matters in New York and occasionally New Jersey. This position is primarily remote, with approximately two in-person days per month.
Responsibilities include:
- Manage assigned trucking and general liability cases from intake through trial
- Coordinate discovery, document production, and case deadlines
- Obtain and organize police reports, medical records, employment records, and expert materials
- Assist with deposition preparation, expert retention, and scheduling, including accident reconstruction and medical experts
- Maintain case management systems with accurate, up-to-date information
- Prepare responsive pleadings, discovery, witness lists, and trial binders
- Support attorneys with hearing and trial logistics, including document productions and exhibits
- Assist with billing summaries and medical summaries and chronologies
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of defense litigation experience (trucking or motor vehicle preferred)
- Familiarity with New York and New Jersey court procedures
- Ability to manage a high-volume caseload with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Willingness to assist with trials and occasional travel as needed
