Our client is seeking a Business Development Specialist to support their Intellectual Property Practice Group.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to strategic business development and marketing plans, setting goals and deadlines.
- Develop a strong understanding of the practice’s market position, strengths, and client base.
- Draft proposals, pitches, and communications for clients and third parties.
- Assist in drafting and tracking legal directory and awards submissions.
- Drive content-driven campaign strategies for new business opportunities.
- Collaborate on cross-selling initiatives with the global business development team.
- Support key client efforts and develop high-value services.
- Plan and oversee seminars, events, and targeted marketing activities.
- Manage business development budgets with practice group leaders and senior managers.
- Collaborate on PR, communications, and digital marketing initiatives.
- Travel as needed for initiatives and activities.
- Lead additional projects as assigned.
Proficiencies:
- Knowledge of legal and professional services marketing trends.
- Proficiency in MS Office and document management systems.
- Fundamental knowledge of CRM systems and online research.
- Excellent communication, editing, and research skills.
- Understanding law firm operations and corporate legal clients' needs.
- Advanced marketing principles and practical applications.
- Networking and relationship management skills.
- Team building, management, and leadership abilities.
- Basic understanding of legal concepts.
- Ability to manage priorities and projects independently.
Qualifications:
- BA/BS Degree (required).
- 4+ years of business development or marketing experience at a peer law firm (Am Law 100 experience preferred).
- Experience supporting an Intellectual Property Practice Group (preferred).
