Compensation: $135,000–$185,000 DOE
About the Role
A respected civil litigation defense firm is seeking a mid-level Associate Attorney to join its Law & Motion practice in the Los Angeles area. This is a full-time, hybrid position offering hands-on litigation experience and a clear path for career growth. Candidates must reside in California.
The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and thrives in a collaborative environment. This role is well-suited for attorneys with strong research and writing skills who are looking to deepen their litigation experience.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct high-level legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and briefs
- Prepare and argue Motions for Summary Judgment
- Manage a litigation caseload independently from intake through resolution
- Conduct depositions and attend court appearances
- Communicate with clients and provide strategic updates
- Collaborate with partners and associates on case strategy
- Participate in settlement negotiations and trial preparation
- Appear on-site for case matters as needed
Qualifications
- JD from an accredited law school
- Active and in good standing with the California State Bar
- 3+ years of litigation experience
- Strong legal writing, oral advocacy, and analytical skills
- Ability to manage deadlines and client expectations in a fast-paced environment
- State courtroom experience strongly preferred
- Research attorney experience a plus
- Trial experience is a plus but not required
- $135,000 - $185,000
