The Program
The internship is a hands-on experience where you will be working directly with the Associate General Counsel and other colleagues in the Legal Team.
This is a 10-week internship program, commencing on June 2nd and ending on August 8th. Candidates must be available for the entire program to be considered.
In addition to your day-to-day responsibilities, you will work on a Project, culminating in a presentation to your manager and leaders in the business.
Please note this is a hybrid position requiring you to work at least 3 days in our office in our New York City.
Primary responsibilities
The Legal Intern shall perform all functions usual and incidental to such position, including the following:
Provide legal research and administrative support to Bank’s in-house Legal Department.
Help monitor regulatory, legislative, and judicial developments that have significance for the Federal Home Loan Bank of New York.
Skills & Experience
Attendance at an ABA-accredited U.S. Law School and completed at least 24 credit hours towards a Juris Doctor Degree. An undergraduate or graduate accounting or business degree is a plus.
Familiarity with applicable software (e.g., Microsoft Office).
Familiarity with legal research, including research on electronic databases, including Westlaw.
Strong communication skills, including the ability to write clearly and express and present thoughts in an organized, clear and concise manner.
Hourly rate – $25 - $30 per hour
