
JOB SUMMARY
This is a temporary position. The duration of this role is not expected to last longer than three months (90 days) from the date of hire.
Habit Burger & Grill is seeking a Legal & Real Estate Intern to support our Legal and Real Estate teams across employment law, contracts, and real estate. This internship offers hands-on experience in a fast-paced in-house environment. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, collaborative, and eager to learn about how legal and real estate functions support a national restaurant brand.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Assist with contract drafting and review, including NDAs, vendor agreements, and marketing agreements
- Attend and summarize meetings related to property issues, litigation, and external counsel coordination
- Support tracking of contract expirations and renewals.
- Participate in employment-related research, including policy development and tracking new federal/state regulations
- Help organize and maintain corporate records, including agreements, bylaws, and real estate documents
- Assist with property management requests in partnership with real estate and facilities managers
- Shadow and support the Legal team in cross-functional meetings with departments such as HR, Operations, Real Estate, and Marketing
- Draft internal communications, assist with legal templates, and coordinate document execution processes
- Assist in organizing legal knowledge databases and supporting legal billing or administrative requests
- Attend and summarize meetings related to property issues, litigation, and external counsel coordination
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
EXPERIENCE (and other qualifications):
- Strong interest in corporate legal or real estate functions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities
- High attention to detail and discretion with confidential information
- Interest in corporate, employment, or real estate law
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
COMPENSATION
Expected Salary: $22.30 per hour. This is the expected salary range for this position. Ultimately, in determining pay, we'll consider the successful candidate’s location, experience, and other job-related factors.
