Summary 

DLA Piper’s San Juan office is seeking a bilingual Tax attorney to work on Puerto Rico and United States taxation matters. 

 

Education 

  • JD 

 

Bar Admission 

  • Admitted to practice in Puerto Rico 

 

Experience 

  • Minimum 4 years of tax related experience in working on Puerto Rico and United States taxation matters. 

  • Experience in mergers and acquisitions, inbound structuring, preparation and submission of request for private letter rulings and Closing Agreements with the Puerto Rico Department of the Treasury, preparation and submission for applications of tax exemption decrees with the PR Department of Economic Development and Commerce, taxation of private equity funds and investors, taxation of financial institutions, corporate and entity tax planning, energy tax credits, Opportunity Zone Funds, amongst others.

General & Essential Job Expectations

Physical Demands, Work Environment, and Other Requirements 

Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
