Fiduciary Litigation Associate
Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Fiduciary Litigation Associate to join our client’s team. This role is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with experience in estate, trust, or fiduciary litigation to hone their litigation skills in an entrepreneurial environment. You will counsel clients on the tax, probate and fiduciaryissues that commonly arise in complex disputes as well as have an understanding of the emotional component of trust and estates disputes. You will work with families, closely held corporations, and corporate fiduciaries.
The ideal candidate will be eager to grow into an expert in litigating disputes in a variety of areas including but not limited to will interpretation and contests, guardianship issues, modification of trusts, breaches of fiduciary duty, challenges to investment decisions, and others.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation and management of fiduciary litigation cases. Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, and support the litigation team.
Communicate effectively with clients, remaining empathetic and aware that this area of law can be highly emotional. Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships.
Qualifications:
Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
0-5 years of relevant experience in estate planning, trust administration, or fiduciary litigation.
Excellent analytical, research, and writing skills, with a strong attention to detail.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Illinois bar admittance, or the ability to gain admission within a reasonable time period.
Location:
This position will be a hybrid position and will be located in one of our client’s Illinois offices, either Edwardsville or O’Fallon, IL.
