Legal Assistant/Scheduler

 

North Miami Beach, high volume Plaintiff Insurance Litigation Firm, has an excellent opportunity for an experienced hearing scheduler and coordinator with a minimum of 1-year of current law firm on point experience assisting with scheduling and coordinating hearings.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Scheduler of Legal Events
  • Coordinate, schedule & calendar hearings throughout the State
  • Communicate with opposing counsel, judicial assistants, court reporters, clients, etc.
  • Set up Court Call or Zoom for hearings.
  • Confirm/Cancel scheduled hearings
  • Manage & maintain attorney office calendar and generate weekly scheduling reports
  • E-file and Serve all Motions and NOH:

 

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

Candidate MUST:

  • Must have experience working in a fast-paced high-volume environment & skilled in handling a heavy volume of scheduling
  • Qualified candidates must be familiar with court procedures and have extensive experience scheduling and maintain attorney’s calendar with accuracy.
  • Must be competent and proficient in the use of Word, Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Excel and G-Suite programs
  • Must possess EXCEPTIONAL communication and customer service skills, in a professional, business manner. Ability to speak and write Creole is a PLUS.
  • Must have excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
  • Ability to solve problems and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
  • Proactive and results oriented
  • Must demonstrate a sense of urgency
  • Must be extremely comfortable & skilled in using technology and automation

 

Compensation & benefits:

Salary commensurate with experience and skill level. Individual Medical insurance premiums are paid by the firm at 75% for the base plan+ a 50% Gap Insurance contribution is provided, an FSA plan, free Basic Life and AD&D Insurance and other valuable benefits. A very generous PTO package is also provided.

 

Working Hours:

Minimum hours required is 9:00 am – 5:00 pm.
