About Client:
A leading biopharmaceutical company dedicated to advancing treatments for autoimmune and rare diseases is seeking a Director, Transactions & Contracts Counsel.
This role focuses on supporting a variety of business functions, including finance, clinical operations, quality, research, and development.
The ideal candidate is a collaborative team player who can operate both strategically and tactically to meet the company’s contracting needs, overseeing contracts management systems in partnership with the legal and finance teams.
Ideal Candidate:
Candidates must be admitted to and in good standing with the bar of Massachusetts or be eligible to obtain membership to the Massachusetts bar.
This requirement ensures the ability to provide legal counsel in compliance with local regulations and supports the company’s Massachusetts-based operations.
Responsibilities:
- Contracts Administration: Support general contracting and contracts administration across departments to manage and streamline contracting needs.
- Contract Negotiation: Prepare, review, negotiate, and execute a range of agreements, including confidentiality agreements, clinical trial agreements, research agreements, material transfers, supply agreements, statements of work, and quality agreements.
- Legal and Business Support: Provide guidance for research, development, quality, and clinical operations functions.
- Outside Counsel Management: Oversee and manage external counsel engagements as necessary.
- Additional Legal Support: Offer legal assistance across various needs, adapting to the company’s evolving requirements.
Requirements:
Experience: 5 years of legal experience, including substantial expertise in contract negotiation and business advice, ideally within a company that has advanced-stage clinical or commercial products.
Education: Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school, with strong academic credentials.
Licensure: Active, good standing with the bar in at least one U.S. state.
