Job Description

The Corporate Counsel plays a critical role in negotiating and advising on contracts across Clark’s projects.  This role will serve as a partner to leaders across the business, also working with outside counsel where appropriate. 

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, review and draft contracts (construction contracts, subcontracts, and other miscellaneous agreements)

  • Lead negotiation efforts to achieve contract terms consistent with Clark’s corporate standards.

  • Provide legal guidance to corporate leadership on various business and industry related matters

  • Provide training within the organization on a variety of legal topics, with a focus on commercial contract matters

  • Develop enterprise contract standards and risk mitigation strategies

  • Cultivate a network of industry relationships to bring potential business opportunities to Clark leadership

  • Cultivate industry relationships to help attract and recruit top talent to Clark. A mindset of "All team members are recruiters"

  • Exceed our stakeholders’ expectations by anticipating their needs, desires, and goals

 

Basic Qualifications

  • Juris doctorate degree required with an active bar membership

  • 5 - 7 years of experience representing clients in contract negotiations

  • Construction law experience is a plus but not required

  • Strong interpersonal skills along with the ability to communicate effectively with others all levels of the organization
