Akerman is seeking an experienced Legal Administrative Assistant to support multiple attorneys in the Intellectual Property Practice Group of the firm’s New York office. The successful candidate must be highly motivated with no less than five years of experience, preferred in a law firm environment:
Requirements:
- Thorough knowledge of patent and trademark prosecution processes and terminology
- Working knowledge of the USPTO and the Patent Center and related forms
- Working knowledge of the PTAB and TTAB courts and their electronic case access and filing systems
- Familiarity with commercial litigation and intellectual property litigation processes
Skills and Competencies:
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to communicate with clients, attorneys and co-workers effectively and efficiently
- Exhibit meticulous attention to detail, and, having strong organizational and time management skills
- Works well independently; reliable and dependable team player and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and tight deadlines
- Other job duties include heavy file maintenance and other various duties as assigned

Job Type: Full-Time (35 hours)
Schedule: Monday through Friday
Salary range: $75,000 – $100,000 (Actual salary is based on experience and job qualifications.)
Bonus: Discretionary holiday bonus
