IN-HOUSE PARALEGAL

Position Overview
As a regular, full-time employee in the Salt Lake City office, the in-house Paralegal will report directly to our General Counsel and Senior Counsel, other members of the Legal Department, and other members of the team requesting Legal Department support. Compensation is commensurate with experience and performance.

As a regular, full-time employee in the Salt Lake City office, the in-house Paralegal will report directly to our General Counsel and Senior Counsel, other members of the Legal Department, and other members of the team requesting Legal Department support. General Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and comment on clean and redlined drafts of commercial contracts with oversight from inhouse lawyers, including non-disclosure agreements, professional service agreements, master service agreements, and work orders based on vendor proposals.
- Analyze project contracts and permit documents to identify obligations of parties to land option agreements, power purchase agreements, conditional use permits, large generator interconnection agreements, and other key documents that require tracking. Import contract obligation details into a comprehensive, contract administration software program customized for renewable energy projects, which includes assigning tasks to appropriate members of the team, describing tasks accurately, and choosing advance warning and action due dates correctly.
- Manage spreadsheets to track execution and expiration of all NDAs, service agreements and work orders.
- Upload contracts and other documents to cloud-based document storage and management system.
- Schedule, prepare agenda, and keep minutes for Legal Department meetings; perform miscellaneous administrative duties in support of the Legal Department as need arises.
- Lead workflow between outside parties and appropriate internal team members as necessary or helpful.
- Assist development team members with new project initiation, naming and coding processes.
- Perform legal research and diligence, process governmental filings, and support transaction closings as directed by attorneys.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skill & Experience Requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to take initiative and work effectively with others internally and outside the company, highly organized, great attention to detail, strong work ethic.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 Business Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) and Acrobat Pro DC.
- Bachelor’s or Associate Degree required; Paralegal Certificate a plus.
- 2-8 years training and work experience in law firms, corporate legal departments, or both.
- Additional knowledge helpful, but not required, in the renewable energy industry.
