SUMMARY: 

Provide support to the Litigation Department. The position includes drafting, organizing, tracking and maintaining documents for the department, general administrative and various other support tasks.   The Department is searching for an individual who is seeking professional growth and looking to contribute to team growth.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Organize documents for various assignments including litigation discovery and company audits and reporting
  • Create, maintain, and update Excel spreadsheets relevant to litigation matters
  • Draft letters, emails and provide support including scheduling, managing deadlines, organizing data, and running reports
  • Manage complaints and deadlines for all department of insurance and consumer complaint responses
  • Maintain and update coverage and legal compendiums 
  • Assist with Department of Insurance complaint responses and inquiries, navigate DOI websites
  • Research dockets, entity records, regulations and laws and navigate state court websites
  • Request conflict checks from attorneys, and forward file materials to attorneys and independent adjusters as directed
  • Maintain understanding of departmental service standards, guidelines, processes, and procedures.
  • Look for ways to improve efficiencies and minimize processing and workflow issues. Shares that information with team and management.
  • Work effectively in a team environment to include participation in projects and testing initiatives.
  • Display flexibility to support evolving department and business needs.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information, company information and policies
  • Perform other similar or related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: 

  • A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Paralegal/Executive Assistant experience is a plus.  
MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

The ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. The ability to think independently, to collect, compile and organize facts and figures in accordance with established procedures.  Ability to work independently and proactively while exercising sound judgment and seeking input where needed. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle controls and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Works indoors at a cubicle with a computer. The noise level is usually moderate.
