Examples of Work
The Hearing Office Paralegal will:
- Open new cases, organize case exhibits, calendar case hearings, and correspond with department personnel and outside parties to the cases.
- Be responsible for compliance with federal and state laws and regulations for hearing procedures in appealed cases in Medicaid and Long-Term Care, Developmental Disabilities, Office of Economic Assistance, Children and Family Services, and Public Health Licensure and Discipline cases.

Requirements/Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Associates degree in paralegal studies from an American Bar Association approved program at an accredited college or successful completion of a program at an American Bar Association approved paralegal institute. Experience may be substituted for education on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications: Excellent writing and proofreading skills; customer service phone skills; and proficiency in MS Office Suite and Adobe.
Other: Position is located on-site at the Nebraska State Office Building in Lincoln.

Effective decision making and problem-solving skills; ability to maintain a strict level of confidentiality; demonstrate a strong attention to detail and accuracy; exhibit excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to meet time-sensitive
deadlines in a fast-paced environment; and must be highly organized and work well under pressure.
