Examples of Work

The Hearing Office Paralegal will:

  • Open new cases, organize case exhibits, calendar case hearings, and correspond with department personnel and outside parties to the cases. 
  • Be responsible for compliance with federal and state laws and regulations for hearing procedures in appealed cases in Medicaid and Long-Term Care, Developmental Disabilities, Office of Economic Assistance, Children and Family Services, and Public Health Licensure and Discipline cases.

Requirements/Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Associates degree in paralegal studies from an American Bar Association approved program at an accredited college or successful completion of a program at an American Bar Association approved paralegal institute. Experience may be substituted for education on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications: Excellent writing and proofreading skills; customer service phone skills; and proficiency in MS Office Suite and Adobe.

Other: Position is located on-site at the Nebraska State Office Building in Lincoln.
