Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Medical Malpractice Defense Litigation Senior Associate to join our team in Concord, NH, operating under an office/hybrid schedule (minimum 4 days/week in-office to start, with potential flexibility for remote work 3–4 days/week).

This role is designed for an attorney capable of handling complex matters from inception through complete resolution with full file responsibility. The practice features substantial existing workflow and offers a premier long-term leadership and partnership trajectory, as retiring partners transition established practices to incoming attorneys.

Key Responsibilities

Case Lifecycle Management: Defend medical malpractice cases from start to finish, assuming full ownership and accountability for assigned files and litigation strategy.

Discovery & Practice: Manage rigorous discovery, conduct and defend depositions, handle motion practice and court hearings, and oversee expert witness coordination.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Relations: Work directly and collaboratively with clients, insurance carriers, opposing counsel, experts, and the courts.

Trial Preparation: Prepare complex matters for trial and actively participate in trials as experience permits.

Caseload Management: Effectively manage a substantial and active caseload within a fast-paced, high-stakes defense practice.

Qualifications & Requirements

Experience: 3 to 5+ years of dedicated medical malpractice defense litigation experience (defense-side background is strictly required; plaintiff-side backgrounds are not a fit).

Autonomy: Demonstrated ability to manage cases independently from inception through resolution with full file responsibility.

Trial Background: Prior trial experience is strongly preferred.

Core Skills: Exceptional legal research, persuasive writing, advocacy, and client-service skills.

Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary: $115,000 – $125,000+ base (some salary flexibility available for candidates bringing additional relevant experience).

Performance Bonuses: Lucrative associate bonus program offering strong performance-based bonuses (~$10,000+).

Benefits: Comprehensive, excellent benefit package included.

Salary
  • $115,000 - $125,000/year
